Stretch & pleated shades

We specialise in handmaking stretch and pleated shades. Shards can be renovated, old frames recovered or new shade frames made to order. See the examples of our work further down on this page.

Renovation

Antique and period lamp bases can be completely refurbished and renovated to meet current electrical safety standards. Damaged lampshades can be repaired, remade and either replicated or a new style designed.

Care Tips

Start by cleaning the inside of the shade with a damp cloth. You can use some methylated spirits for stubborn marks. Do not rub too hard as this will scratch the surface. For the outside of the shade, the upholstery nozzle of a vacuum cleaner on low, or a soft brush will remove dust. You can also use a good quality white plastic eraser for stubborn marks. Do not wet the fabric. To clean the diffuser plates (all of Calder Interior's diffusers have the ability to be taken out of the shade) clean gently with a soft micro cloth or methylated spirits if required.
